Project Accountant

For future assignments we are now looking for Project Accountants. 
The Project Accountant function is responsible for a project or a Portfolio of projects to ensure accurate, timely and value added analysis and reporting. The function contributes to the effective running of projects and comprises responsibility for, but not limited to financial and performance status reporting.

Key responsibilities
  • Establishment and communication of processes and routines required for best Accounting practice and financial reporting
  • Establishment of Project Accounting Memo/Accounting Definition
  • Review the use of standard, appropriate templates for financial reporting
  • Ensuring that the project forecast and revenue recognition is in accordance
  • Review of contingency amounts to ensure compliance with policy
  • Ensure the month-end close out of Finance reporting systems are being completed
  • The timely coding, collection, analysis and reporting of all project expenditure, together with the budget holder(s)
  • Monitoring and reporting of project revenue
  • Review and assist in the reconciliation of forecast and actual expenditures, production of project accruals and actual cost of work performed
  • Ensure Project Memo, is available in accordance with request from Finance
  • Ensure correct use of balance sheet, both on revenue and cost accruals
  • The production of long term cash flow projections
  • Assist in the production of audit reports and other audit information as required by internal & external audit teams
  • Other ad hoc requests as may be necessary from time to time

  • Minimum 3-5 years relevant accounting experience required
  • A minimum of three years education at university level is required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proactive and solution oriented
  • Structured and organized with good attention to details
